I Met Bradley Today...

This afternoon I met Bradley. Wiry older guy and way down on his luck. He lives at 85 Genesee Street. Here, he's sitting down in what used to be a store front window - back in the day - having a bite to eat. He props the board up for a bit of privacy.

Here's a slideshow I put together of the two buildings [quikmap] at the corner of Genesee and Ellicott - 85 and 91 Genesee Street. The one story building in the pics is 85 - where Bradley is sitting and the taller one, with the grey boarded windows to Bradley's left, is 91 Genesee Street. Just got back 12:15am...he's bunked down for the night. On your way to the office or back to your car tomorrow, stop by and say hello. Stay tuned...it's a developing story...

David. I wish you would stop showing these old abandoned buildings that our savy landlords provide rent free living spaces; why would my tennant want to rent from me when she can get one of these luxery suites. Michael Hardy

One building in the abyss of urban decay and why is such an awesome collection of buildings allowed sitting empty and forlorn for so many years?

I cannot believe that someone has not expressed an interest in the Wagner Photography Building.

As for the slideshow; the juxtaposition of these buildings with M&T Bank in the background is classic considering the extreme urban blight of this street corner.
