September 2, 2006 - Day 70
The dumpsters for asbestos removal showed up this week. Other dumpsters were quickly filled with loads of solid core doors, hardwood trim and all sorts of totally salvagable materials. Got some. Heard that this pace will quicken in the coming weeks. Really wished I'd grabbed some of those deco-plywood auditorium chairs.

Outside is moving along as you can see from these pics. Tons of construction materials were also delivered to the site this week. Last nite when I returned home around 11pm noticed that the Woodlawn gate had been forced open. Called the police and called LPCiminelli project manager and e-mailed with a follow-up. Cops never showed as of half hour ago the gate is still open.
See BAVPA Reconstruction Archive for additional details and updates.

There is a quality even meaner than outright ugliness or disorder, and this meaner quality is the dishonest mask
of pretended order, achieved by ignoring or suppressing the real order that is struggling to exist and to be served.
