Artspace Party - Reminder

Saturday 1-3pm. If you're reading this, consider yourself invited. Here's the scoop.
Artspace Buffalo Lofts • 1219 Main Street
Please join us for a Construction Celebration at the Artspace Buffalo Lofts. Come learn more about this historic development and future home to area artists and their families. Ceremonial groundbreaking shovels designed by local artists will be on-site for viewing. Music, refreshments and tours of the building following the ceremony. Parking is available behind the Belmont Shelter Corporation at the intersection of Coe and Main Streets across from the Artspace Buffalo Lofts. (Or take subway to Summer Street and walk two blocks.)
The party is sponsored by: Artspace Projects, Apollo Housing Capital, LLC and Cannon Heyman & Weiss, LLP, Attorneys at Law.
I've been following Artspace developments since December 2004 and view this project as a significant "puzzle piece" in the economic revitilization of Midtown and the City's near East Side. Check out the Artspace Archive for project history, commentary and construction pics. BRO has more about Saturday's party.

Make sure to check out Chris Hawley's Midtown: Poised for Renaissance to see how Artspace fits into a larger context. Stevan Stipanovich's Midtown: North to Ferry is the companion commercial planning document.

Before or after the party make sure to check out Coe Place and discover Buffalo's emerging Midtown neighborhood right next door. Chris's take on Coe Place is worth a closer look...

Coe Place is the most historically and urbanistically significant street in the Midtown neighborhood. At one time a brick pedestrian pathway, converted to a residential street by a quixotic nineteenth-century skating rink operator, Coe Place is a charming, very narrow street, originally no more than fifteen feet wide, lined with a collection of close-knit Queen Anne-style houses whose singular attributes are unmatched anywhere else in Buffalo. read the rest...
And another shameless plug for brick-oven pizza, right across the street at Delta Sonic...yum!
