Urbex @ Transfiguration - Discovery Channel Video!

This afternoon I posted a request to Buffalo Issue Alerts and asked if anyone had a copy of the Discovery Channel's video of the Urbex that went on at the Transfiguration during the summer of 2005. Vince, quickly responded and sent along a file. I uploaded the material to Youtube and presto...here we go. Really amazing venture.

The first three minutes are devoted to a rather high-wire exploration of Transfiguration Church. The team also visited the Anchor Bar and poked around Concrete Central...a place I've yet to see, up close. This is the same video that Preservation Board members viewed during Thursday's meeting.

In case the video gets pulled for copywrite infringement, I've archived the footage in my esnips account - right here.

Amazing footage of the church, anyone have the rest of the episode somewhere? I'm curious to see the rest of the concrete central footage.

Mlystad,

Yeah I seem to remember that there was some context footage about the neighborhood that preceeded this spot...and a few more minutes of concrete central, too...

When I find, you'll see it...

Uploading a Discovery Channel video anywhere is probably a copyright violation. I wouldn't put it past all the TV/cable channels to be patrolling Youtube for unauthorized copies.

Just a heads up.

You may be right. We'll see how long it lasts...one reason why I've also archived it over in esnips...

Concrete Centeral is cool, the Smith St park that surrounds it is also a great spot. It's a fascenating example of how nature is reclaiming industry.

Does anyone have pictures of Transfiguration before it was closed?

There a few pictures available in Dr. Martin Ederer's book "Buffalo’s Catholic Churches: Ethnic Communities and the Architectural Legacy."
