I've been keeping track of recent developments involving this place - St. Vincent's Watch. Don't forget to check out the Squier Mansion. Cash picked up a Preservation Coalition Award for his work. Here in the neighborhood Cash has also found a solid tenant for a building at the corner of Main and Woodlawn that he purchased last year. Wrote about that good news in March.

Thanks for the kudos...I've arranged for a showing of St. Vincent's on Monday afternoon. Finger's crossed.
I spent sometime walking the GRCO neighborhood late this afternoon with a photographer interested in documenting Buffalo's urban decay. The GRCO will be placed on a new "watch list" soon. Another post is in the works.
Chatted with block club people and crime their is like crime in other parts of the near east side. Some, then alot, then nothing for a long time.
Today was the first time I really fell in love with the neighborhood and imagined the two prominent main buildings as seperate residences. Huge and cool.

As long as existing = original construction. Existing doesn't mean tear off the cornice and sheet it over.
I have posted this question before, to no avail, and I am now going to post it again; with all due respect to Mr. Cunningham…
I had assumed that Cash Cunningham owned all three St Vincent’s buildings (Squires Mansion, Gymnasium and School Building) but was lead to believe that since the School building was in such bad shape, that the property must have been sub-divided and that Mr. Cunningham must not have owned the entire complex after all…
Now, it comes to light that Mr. Cunningham will be involved in this buildings restoration.
Wonderful; but, has he owned this building all along and, if so, why has it taken him this long to respond to the needs of this building?
I just hope he does a better exterior renovation job than the Squires Mansion. Power wash and re-point the exterior brick and not some ugly blue-paint job please!
