I first noticed this parked trailer during Mayor Masiello's second term in the late 90's. Today rural signifiers such as this are more common on the ever expanding urban prairie on the City's East Side.

In the early 1950s I crossed at this corner every morning on the way to P.S.#39. I'm glad to see the neighborhood watch and "no dumping" signs. People who care about the neighborhood still live here. There was a tavern on one corner and a small grocery, Kuhn's, on another.
According to my mom, Schwable's Tavern was at the corner of Sycamore and Johnson.
